Job description

We're a forward-thinking technology company looking for a detail-oriented Technical Writer to enhance our documentation and support efforts. As a Technical Writer based near our North Las Vegas facilities, you will be crucial in ensuring that our clients and internal teams have access to easy-to-understand and helpful technical documentation. This hybrid role requires on-site collaboration mixed with the flexibility of remote work, creating a balanced environment. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers, and customer support to collect and organize vital data needed for documentation.

Core Deliverables:

  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documents for our software products, including API guides, user manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Conducting in-depth research to learn and understand complex technical topics, which you then simplify into easily digestible content.
  • Collaborating across departments to understand the documentation requirements of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leading user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate accuracy and usability of the documentation.
  • Adhering to established documentation standards and style guides to ensure consistency.
  • Managing documentation repositories, including version control and access management.
  • Contributing to continuous improvements in documentation practices through feedback and analysis.
  • Assisting with the design and development of multimedia learning resources to supplement written documentation.

The Ideal Candidate's Intellectual Skillset:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field. Alternative concentrations can be substituted with substantial professional experience.
  • Hands-on expertise in developing technical documentation, preferably in a software development environment.
  • A demonstrated aptitude for simplifying complex concepts into clear, accessible language.
  • Familiarity with standard documentation tools and content management systems, such as Confluence, Git, and various authoring software.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities. Strong interpersonal skills are also very advantageous.
  • A portfolio demonstrating documentation and writing proficiency.
  • A background in agile methodologies is an added bonus.
  • Ability to work autonomously, as well as within diverse, cross-functional teams.

Perks and Privileges:

At our organization, we are devoted to cultivating the complete well-being of our staff. Highlights include premium health coverage (medical, dental, and vision), ample paid leave for necessary life moments, and a generous retirement savings plan with company contribution matching. To promote constant professional growth, we provide learning stipends for related courses and conferences. We foster team harmony through scheduled team-building gatherings and acknowledge superior achievements via quarterly awards and bonuses. Our organization is also committed to equity and diversity; and our benefits packages reflect that commitment.

Come aboard and be a crucial member in providing our users with world-class documentation and top tier service.
