Our fast-growing engineering team needs a versatile technical documentation specialist. We're a SaaS company at the intersection of IoT and renewable energy, serving enterprise clients who rely on clear, accurate documentation to integrate our platform. As our initial technical communicator, you'll own the strategy and creation of user guides, API references, troubleshooting materials, and more. Think "engineer empathy" – translating complex technical concepts into accessible content for a range of users.

Responsibilities that Empower:

  • Architect a comprehensive technical documentation strategy aligning with product roadmap and user feedback.
  • Author clear, concise documentation for APIs, SDKs, and other developer resources. Consider voice of customer and overall end-user needs.
  • Create engaging tutorials and guides to assist users in onboarding and utilizing our platform efficiently.
  • Maintain and update existing documentation to reflect new product features and improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and support teams to ensure content accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct usability testing to validate documentation effectiveness.
  • Manage the documentation repository and implement a version control system.
  • Contribute to knowledge base articles and FAQs to address common user queries.
  • Explore and implement modern documentation tools and platforms.
  • Implement SEO optimization strategies in help content so it's easily findable.

Capabilities We Value:

  • A track record of excelling in a technical communication environment.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in the landscape of SaaS and/or IoT arenas.
  • Familiarity with documentation authoring tools (e.g., Sphinx, DITA, Markdown).
  • Expertise in source control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • A knack for explaining complex topics in simple, engaging language.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or a related field is beneficial. Other academic pursuits will also be considered.
