Job description

Our outreach division needs a dedicated grant writer in Greensboro, NC, with a proven record of securing funds for non-profit organizations. This individual will be crucial in expanding our programs and ensuring our ability to serve our community effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grant Prospecting & Research: Actively search for grant opportunities that align with our organization's mission, values, and programs. Analyze funding priorities and trends to identify the best potential matches.
  • Proposal Development: Write persuasive and well-researched grant proposals, tailored to meet specific funder guidelines. Incorporate data-driven evidence, compelling narratives, and a clear articulation of project impact.
  • Budget Creation & Management: Collaborate with program staff and finance teams to develop realistic and comprehensive grant budgets. Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with grant terms.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with foundation representatives, government agencies, and other funding sources. Attend funder meetings and site visits as needed.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Prepare timely and accurate grant reports, documenting program outcomes and financial performance. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with internal teams to gather program information, develop project plans, and align fundraising strategies.

Professional Background

  • A background in grant writing, fundraising, or non-profit management.
  • Mastery of persuasive writing techniques and the ability to create compelling narratives.
  • Familiarity with grant databases, research methodologies, and funding trends.
  • Proficiency in budget development and financial management.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
