Job description

Our team in Port St. Lucie is searching for a part-time Technical Writer to craft and maintain high-quality documentation for our expanding product line. If you have a knack for translating complex technical information into easy-to-understand user guides and API documentation, this could be the perfect opportunity to put your skillset to great use. This on-site role offers the chance to be at the forefront of product evolution.

Core Writing Responsibilities

  • Develop clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation, including user manuals, API references, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Work closely with our engineering and product development teams to thoroughly understand our offerings and document their use.
  • Update and maintain existing documentation to reflect product updates and bug fixes. The fast-paced nature of updates means the ability to learn fast is highly valuable!
  • Contribute to the improvement of our documentation processes and style guides.
  • Create tutorials and example code to aid developers in using our API.
  • Proofread and edit technical documents for clarity, grammar, and consistency. Being able to use different media such as static and motion graphics to highlight complex content will be an added advantage.

Required Skills & Background

  • A background in technical writing, computer science, or a related field.
  • The candidate must possess solid written and verbal communication abilities and show a portfolio to show this.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycles and documentation processes is highly desired.
  • Hands-on understanding of document management systems and version control.
  • Aptitude to read and decipher API documentation.
  • Familiarity with Markdown, HTML, and other documentation tools.
