- Our growing engineering team in Lubbock, TX, is seeking a meticulous and insightful part-time Technical Documentation Specialist. The need stems from a rapid expansion of our software suite, requiring up-to-date and easily digestible documentation for both internal staff and external clients. This isn't simply about recording information; it's about creating a learning ecosystem that allows our users to fully utilize our powerful software solutions. **Key Activities** * Convert complex software processes into clear, concise, and accessible user manuals and API documentation. * Collaborate with software developers, QA testers, and product managers to grasp the underlying function and rationale behind new features and upgrades. * Maintain and update existing documentation to ensure relevance and accuracy. * Generate instructional videos and interactive tutorials to further enhance the user's educational journey. * Develop and manage a content calendar for scheduled documentation releases. * Implement and uphold documentation standards and best practices across the team. * Solicit and act upon user feedback to continuously enhance documentation quality. * Organize and maintain a repository of all documentation materials. **Skills & Experience to Succeed** * An academic background in technical writing, computer science, or a closely related field is helpful. * A solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC). * Proficiency with documentation tools such as Confluence, Gitbook, or similar platforms. * Familiarity with API documentation generation using tools like Swagger or Postman. * Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities. * Capability to work independently and manage priorities effectively. * A proactive approach to problem-solving and a love of intellectual curiosity. * Comfort communicating with various internal teams, as well as some direct client engagement, when necessary. **What Makes this Opportunity Special** This part-time position provides a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in the evolution of our software platform.
