I feel I'm on this planet to explore all it has to offer. Doing so makes me happier than anything else. Since I was a kid, I've fostered a deep appreciation for travel and finding the beating heart of every location. It comes from the foundations of any great city: the people, culture, and history. With my camera in hand, radiant energy takes over my being to find the essence of the environment I'm in. I learned from my greatest childhood hero, Anthony Bourdain, that this might mean doing nothing but taking a seat on a park bench and watching the world go by. One must live how the locals do to understand a place truly. This practice grounds me when traveling. Furthermore, I strive to connect with the people I meet, to eat what's local and in season, and find what makes every place, unlike anywhere else. My passion for street photography allows me to not only be in a new place, but genuinely perceive it. From reading the book of Japanese street photography legend, Daido Moriyama, I learned that no place is uninteresting, even our own backyard. I'll look up where others won't and down where maybe I shouldn't to get the shot that captures a feeling. My appreciation for street photography gives me an excuse to get out take the streets for some solitary exploration, no matter where I am. I love this planet we call home. I believe traveling is the most enriching experience we can have. I want nothing more than to share my journey.
