When I do a biographical piece, I learn everything I can about my subject and, when possible, get their 100% approval before going to press. In my portfolio here, you can see a brief bio on painter Joshua Miels and, copyright allowing, soon I will add one digital artist Michael Honeycutt. For the Josh Miels piece, I researched him online for two days; for the Honeycutt piece, I emailed with him for several weeks before starting to write.
